Deck overview

This Kaalia of the Vast deck is an aggressive cheat-fatty and attrition strategy designed to bypass mana restrictions and dominate the game through the combat step. The primary plan leverages low-cost mana rocks on Turns 1–2 to deploy Kaalia on Turn 3. On Turn 4, Kaalia attacks and drops catastrophic Angels, Demons, or Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Payoffs like Master of Cruelties deliver instant single-player eliminations, while Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Archfiend of Despair, and Balefire Dragon deal overwhelming damage and wipe opposing creature boards. The deck reinforces its combat engine with asymmetric denial pieces such as Rule of Law, High Noon, and Armageddon, which cripple opponents while Kaalia cheats threats for free. A strong suite of 1-to-2 mana exile removal and targeted protection spells shields the commander and keeps opposing engines in check until the flying armada closes the game on Turn 6.
