Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu aggro-cheat strategy commanded by Kaalia of the Vast. The primary gameplan uses fast mana artifacts and low-cost rocks to deploy Kaalia ahead of curve on Turn 2 or 3. Once equipped with haste enablers like Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot Boots, Kaalia attacks to bypass the heavy casting costs of high-impact Angels, Demons, and Dragons, putting them directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Threats like Master of Cruelties provide rapid single-target eliminations, while Sire of Insanity strips opposing hands to solidify board advantage, and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight doubles combat damage across the table. The deck supports this offensive engine with efficient spot removal, free protection spells such as Deflecting Swat, and universal tutors to find missing pieces. Its main vulnerability is heavy commander reliance, as removing Kaalia before her attack trigger stalls the cheat engine and forces a slower hardcasting plan.
