Deck overview

This Selesnya token swarm deck is led by Buxton, Decorated Host. The strategy focuses on establishing early board presence on Turns 1 through 3 using efficient low-mana creatures and token generators like Resolute Reinforcements and Adeline, Resplendent Cathar. On Turn 4, the deck convokes Buxton into play ahead of curve. At each end step, Buxton seeks a nonland permanent directly onto the battlefield for free, scaling with the number of tapped creatures. This recurring engine pulls powerful anthems such as Cathars' Crusade and token multipliers like Warren Warleader straight into combat. By Turn 5, the board achieves critical mass and eliminates opponents through wide combat attacks over two response cycles. Instants like Teferi's Protection and Heroic Intervention shield the army against opposing sweepers.
