Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Spellslinger Voltron strategy helmed by Saruman, the White Hand. The primary game plan revolves around deploying Saruman on Turn 4 and chaining noncreature spells to amass a formidable Orc Army token that gains ward {2}. The list pairs spellslinger velocity with combat enhancements, using equipment like Vorrac Battlehorns, O-Naginata, and Hero's Heirloom alongside double-strike spells like Assault Strobe and Psychotic Fury to turn the Army into an evasive, lethal threat. Board control is maintained through tailored removal and asymmetric sweepers like Widespread Brutality, which leverages the Army's high power to wipe opposing boards while preserving your own. While the deck boasts robust on-curve ramp, consistent mana fixing, and versatile modal spells, its reliance on a single tall creature token makes it susceptible to mass bounce, exile sweepers, and edict effects.
