Deck overview

This deck is a Simic control and midrange strategy built around Gor Muldrak, Amphinologist. The commander distributes 4/3 blue Salamander Warrior creature tokens to players with the fewest creatures while granting all your permanents absolute protection from Salamanders. You leverage this asymmetric protection by altering creature types across the board using cards like Unnatural Selection, Standardize, and Amoeboid Changeling. By turning opposing creatures into Salamanders, you make your attackers unblockable and blank opposing attacks and targeted abilities. Meanwhile, power-based draw engines like Garruk's Uprising and Elemental Bond draw cards whenever your 4/3 tokens enter, refuel your hand, and dig into decisive payoffs like Peer Pressure or clone effects like Spark Double and Sakashima of a Thousand Faces. The deck controls combat, breaks symmetry on board states, and closes games through steady, unblockable combat damage.
