Deck overview

This Abzan deck is helmed by Betor, Ancestor's Voice, turning both life loss and life gain into significant board presence and recursive advantage. The strategy fills the graveyard in the early turns using self-mill enablers like Stitcher's Supplier, Mesmeric Orb, and Grisly Salvage. By intentionally paying life through pain lands, shock lands, and engines like Black Market Connections, the deck enables Betor to reanimate massive high-impact creatures on the end step. Heavy hitters like Vilis, Broker of Blood, Valgavoth, Terror Eater, and Evra, Halcyon Witness rapidly outvalue opponents or apply lethal pressure. The deck also packs multiple alternate win conditions, including Felidar Sovereign, Test of Endurance, and Liliana's Contract, supported by redundant recursion spells like Eerie Ultimatum and Celestine, the Living Saint to ensure relentless mid-to-late game resilience.
