Deck overview

This Jeskai deck is an aggressive spellslinger build helmed by Gandalf, Party Guest. The strategy centers on assembling low-cost legendary Wizards alongside Gandalf to cheat instant and sorcery spells into play during the combat phase. By combining cost-reducers like Stormcatch Mentor and Ral, Monsoon Mage with pump enablers such as Balmor, Battlemage Captain, Adeliz, the Cinder Wind, and Bria, Riptide Rogue, the deck transforms cheap cantrips and interaction into massive combat buffs and table-wide burn via Fiery Inscription and Vivi Ornitier. A deep defensive suite of twelve counterspells protects key creatures and disrupts opposing game plans while maintaining tempo. While the deck lacks universal tutors and fast mana positive rocks, its high density of interchangeable Wizard payoffs and cantrip filtering ensures consistent execution, closing games on turns 6 to 7 through explosive flurries of spells and unblockable trample assaults.
