Deck overview

This mono-blue combo-control deck uses Ambassador Laquatus as an infinite mana outlet in the command zone to mill the entire table in a single turn. The deck controls the early game with tempo-positive bounce spells like Fading Hope and Boomerang, efficient countermagic such as Counterspell and Foil, and cantrips to smoothly sculpt its hand. It accelerates using low-cost mana rocks and cost reducers including Sapphire Medallion and Sol Ring to reach critical mana thresholds. The primary victory condition pairs Deadeye Navigator with untap creatures like Peregrine Drake or Great Whale, generating arbitrary quantities of mana by repeatedly flickering the creature to untap lands. Once infinite mana is established, Laquatus mills every opponent's library completely. Backup lines utilize Ghostly Flicker alongside Archaeomancer and Drake, ensuring resilience against targeted removal.
