Deck overview

This Boros Spirit-tribal deck, helmed by Hofri Ghostforge, is a value-oriented token aggro strategy that leverages death triggers and graveyard recursion to generate an overwhelming board presence. The core loop involves sacrificing nontoken creatures to exile them via Hofri, creating hasty Spirit tokens that return the exiled card to the graveyard when they leave. This engine fuels multiple payoffs: Impact Tremors and Fuming Effigy for direct damage, token anthems like Intangible Virtue and Phantom General for combat inevitability, and recursion engines like Sun Titan and Emeria Shepherd to rebuild after wipes. The deck wins through combat damage from a wide board of buffed Spirits, often accelerated by Ceaseless Conflict or Boros Charm for double strike. It lacks fast combos, relying instead on incremental value and resilience to outlast opponents.
