Derevi Merfolk by KiDCady

Format: Commander

Commander: Derevi, Empyrial Tactician

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Bant Merfolk deck built around +1/+1 counters, token generation, and the tap/untap synergies that Derevi, Empyrial Tactician unlocks. The primary plan is to put unblockable Merfolk on the table, pump them with lords and counter doublers, and convert combat damage into card advantage and extra turns. The commander's combat triggers untap lands and tap token-makers such as Stonybrook Schoolmaster, while the command-zone ability keeps Derevi available without commander tax. The deck is also a combo deck: Wanderwine Prophets plus Deeproot Pilgrimage makes infinite turns once a Merfolk is unblockable, and Kiora's Follower plus Deeproot Pilgrimage and Intruder Alarm makes infinite tokens and untaps, with Cathars' Crusade, Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca, or Simic Ascendancy as payoffs. It plays as a midrange value deck that can suddenly pivot into a deterministic kill.
