Deck overview

This Simic deck focuses on Merfolk tribal synergy, +1/+1 counters, and combat evasion led by Hakbal of the Surging Soul. The strategy establishes a base of low-cost Merfolk during early turns, casts Hakbal on Turn 4, and leverages repeated explore triggers to grow creatures while drawing lands and filtering draws. By Turn 5, the deck transitions into a lethal threat by granting unblockable attacks or islandwalk through Herald of Secret Streams, Lord of Atlantis, and Master of the Pearl Trident. Evasion is further guaranteed by Harbinger of the Seas, which converts opposing lands into Islands. Board protection such as Ripples of Potential and Inspiring Call shields against sweepers, while Vodalian Hexcatcher and Tishana's Tidebinder disrupt opposing answers. The deck closes the game on Turn 7 through decisive, wide combat damage.
