Deck overview

Ygra, Eater of All headlines a Golgari midrange and Voltron control strategy centered on transforming the entire table's creature base into Food artifacts. By leveraging Ygra's static ability, symmetrical artifact removal spells such as Creeping Corrosion, Fade from History, and Bane of Progress turn into one-sided board wipes that eradicate opposing armies and mana rocks while inflating Ygra with dozens of +1/+1 counters. The deck accelerates quickly into a Turn 4 Ygra using dense 1-2 CMC ramp, followed by a Turn 5 wipe that immediately threatens lethal commander damage. Card draw engines like Viridian Revel and Return of the Wildspeaker refill the hand with dozens of fresh resources as boards collapse. While vulnerable to exile sweepers and stack countermagic, Ygra's built-in Ward and explosive combat finishers—such as Berserk and Tyvar, the Pummeler—allow the deck to systematically eliminate opponents in rapid succession across Turns 5 through 7.
