Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue spellslinger control strategy piloted by Eluge, the Shoreless Sea. The deck ramps early to deploy Eluge on Turn 3 or 4, immediately placing flood counters onto lands. By utilizing cheap blink spells such as Essence Flux, Planar Incision, and Blur, the deck rapidly multiplies flood counters. These counters reduce the cost of the first instant or sorcery cast on every single turn by colored blue mana. This discount turns powerful counterspells and instant-speed draw effects essentially free during opponents' turns. Once the engine is fully established, the deck transitions into its win condition by casting an undercosted Enter the Infinite, Sea Gate Restoration, or deep Pull from Tomorrow. After drawing the entire library, the deck immediately closes the game on Turn 6 using Psychosis Crawler life drain or drawing from an empty library with Laboratory Maniac or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries on the field.
