Commander: Volrath, the Shapestealer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Volrath, the Shapestealer leads a Sultai shapeshifter deck that wins by overwhelming the table with token copies, culminating in an end-step Biovisionary trigger. The commander is a flexible clone and a source of removal: his -1/-1 counter plus {1} ability turns him into an extra copy of a key creature, including Biovisionary. The deck is overloaded with clone creatures and copy instants/sorceries, with Adrix and Nev and Orvar doubling the token output. Sakashima of a Thousand Faces acts as a secondary clone commander in the 99. Without tutors, the plan relies on drawing one of many copy effects and the single Biovisionary, so games range from explosive turn 6 kills to much longer grindy assembly.
