Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Golgari aristocrats and reanimator strategy commanded by Meren of Clan Nel Toth. The primary plan accelerates mana on early turns to deploy Meren on Turn 3 or 4 alongside sacrifice outlets and reusable creatures. Once active, Meren generates experience counters and recurs utility creatures to the battlefield every end step. The deck grinds opponents down by recurring edict effects like Plaguecrafter, Dictate of Erebos, and Sothera, the Supervoid, while emptying hands with Sadistic Hypnotist. Draw engines such as Yawgmoth, Thran Physician and Greater Good quickly dig into win conditions. The game ends around Turn 7 via aristocrat drain loops with Gravecrawler and Blood Artist, or through an instant lethal fling by sacrificing a 10,000-power Jumbo Cactuar to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord to drain all opponents at once.
