Stomping The Competition by Papa_Swoose

Format: Commander

Commander: Maular, the Next Evolution

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This deck is a high-mana-value stompy strategy helmed by Maular, the Next Evolution, whose rulebreaker ability allows any creature with mana value 7 or greater regardless of colour identity, and whose attack trigger doubles the power and toughness of each such creature. The primary game plan is to accelerate into a dense board of enormous threats-Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, Zacama, Primal Calamity, Etali, Primal Conqueror-and then overwhelm opponents with doubled-power attackers, often amplified further by damage doublers like Angrath's Marauders and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight. The deck has no infinite combos; it wins through pure combat inevitability, using Last March of the Ents and Monster Manual to dump multiple fatties in a single turn. The commander is a key enabler but not essential-the deck can still function with its many other power-doubling effects and raw threat density.
