Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mardu Vampire tribal and aristocrats build commanded by Edgar Markov. The primary game plan leverages Edgar's eminence ability to flood the battlefield with 1/1 Vampire tokens whenever low-cost Vampire spells are cast from hand. In the early turns, the deck deploys low-curve creatures to build a wide board state without committing the commander to the battlefield. By Turns 4 and 5, tribal lords, anthems, and draw engines amplify this army into a threatening combat force. The deck transitions into a lethal threat by Turn 6, either by casting Edgar Markov to buff the entire team on attack or by resolving mass pump effects like Cathars' Crusade. Aristocrat drain pieces such as Blood Artist and Cruel Celebrant ensure that opponents take damage even during combat trades or sweepers. As an alternate instant-win route, the deck can assemble the infinite life-drain combo between Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose.
