Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Frodo, Sauron's Bane as a lethal one-shot player-elimination commander alongside a dense Ring-tempting shell. Frodo advances through a three-stage level-up sequence: entering as a 1/2 Citizen for {W}, upgrading to a 2/3 Halfling Scout with lifelink for {W/B}{W/B}, and finally becoming a Halfling Rogue for {B}{B}{B}. Once Frodo reaches Rogue status and the Ring has tempted you at least four times, any combat damage Frodo deals directly eliminates that player. The list maximizes this plan with extensive Ring-tempt redundancy—headlined by nine copies of Nazgûl and Call of the Ring—combined with an array of unblockable equipment and auras such as Whispersilk Cloak and Spirit Mantle. A comprehensive package of low-cost protection creatures and flash buffs shields Frodo throughout each attack phase. If Frodo is suppressed, the Nazgûl grow rapidly into an overwhelming deathtouch beatdown engine that closes out games through traditional combat.
