Deck overview

This Selesnya deck is an aggressive combat engine commanded by Tadeas, Juniper Ascendant. It pairs low-cost, high-toughness reach creatures with 'butt-strike' mechanics that allow creatures to assign combat damage using their toughness instead of power. Tadeas grants these reach creatures pseudo-vigilance by untapping them when they attack, provides evasion against creatures with greater power, and draws cards whenever creatures deal combat damage to players. Supported by toughness assigners like Assault Formation, Huatli, the Sun's Heart, and Baldin, Century Herdmaster, the deck turns inexpensive defenders into unblockable attackers. Massive toughness pump spells such as Tower Defense and Solidarity act as combat finishers, while asymmetric tools like Dusk // Dawn and Noetic Scales clear opposing high-power boards without harming the deck's own creatures. The strategy is straightforward, highly resilient against flying threats, and capable of generating consistent card advantage through combat.
