Commander: Derevi, Empyrial Tactician

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This Bant deck leverages Derevi, Empyrial Tactician as a relentless value engine and combo catalyst. Derevi's ability to tap or untap any permanent on combat damage fuels explosive mana generation, while its command-zone activated ability (putting it directly onto the battlefield) bypasses traditional counterspells and tax effects. The deck is a highly tuned combo-control list that marries a dense stack of free counterspells and stax pieces (Archon of Emeria, Deafening Silence, Grand Arbiter Augustin IV) with a deep tutor suite to assemble one of its many infinite combos. Primary win conditions include infinite mana via Bloom Tender + Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy + Emiel the Blessed, then dumping that mana into Walking Ballista; the Felidar Guardian + Emiel the Blessed + Preston, the Vanisher blink loop for infinite ETBs; and Finale of Devastation for a massive haste-powered combat kill. The deck is resilient, interactive, and capable of winning on the same turn it attacks with Derevi.
