Deck overview

This is a classic Izzet spell-slinger build helmed by Mizzix of the Izmagnus. The plan is to land Mizzix early, convert cheap instants and sorceries into experience counters, and then use the growing discount to chain cantrips, generate treasure, and assemble an explosive storm turn. The primary kills are infinite mana lines into Comet Storm or Banefire, the Niv-Mizzet, Parun + Curiosity loop, and copy-storm payoffs such as Thousand-Year Storm, Swarm Intelligence, and Double Vision alongside Guttersnipe and Aria of Flame. Mizzix is the best discount engine in the command zone, but the deck is not wholly dependent on him: seven other cost reducers and several combo lines living entirely in the 99 mean the game plan can continue even if he is answered.
