Deck overview

This deck is a classic Gruul tribal aggro strategy built around Tovolar, Dire Overlord. The main objective is to establish an early board presence with efficient Wolves and Werewolves, cast Tovolar on curve, and leverage his combat damage trigger to draw multiple cards each turn cycle. Once three or more pack creatures are assembled, Tovolar automatically forces the game into Night at upkeep, flipping human werewolves into their formidable nightbound sides without requiring skipped spellcasts. In the midgame, the deck capitalizes on this massive card flow to deploy overpowering stat multipliers, token multipliers, and trample enablers such as Unnatural Growth, Avabruck Caretaker, and Tovolar's Huntmaster. It wins by overwhelming all three opponents across consecutive combat steps. While vulnerable to creature sweepers and lacking stack-based interaction, the deck enjoys strong recovery due to the sheer volume of cards Tovolar draws during active turns.
