Smaug by Nils

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a mono-red Treasures-matter deck helmed by Smaug the Magnificent, designed to generate an overwhelming artifact token economy and convert it directly into damage. The commander itself is a one-card engine-it attacks with haste, adds a Treasure each upkeep, and fires a scalable damage spell equal to the number of Treasures you control. The core game plan is linear: amass a dense swarm of Treasure tokens through a deep redundancy suite of token creators (over a dozen), pump those numbers with token doublers like Academy Manufactor and Storm-Kiln Artist, then win by one of four channels: Smaug's attack trigger as a finisher, Hellkite Tyrant's 20-artifact win, a burn finish via Ingenious Artillerist and Reckless Fireweaver, or a massive Brass's Bounty plus commander strike turn.
