Deck overview

This Esper Sphinx deck leverages The Ur-Sphinx's command-zone eminence ability alongside dedicated cost-reducers like Urza's Incubator, Watcher of the Spheres, and Warden of Evos Isle to deploy massive flying threats well ahead of curve. The engine hinges on Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, which turns every subsequent Sphinx cast into a four-card mini Fact or Fiction, quickly churning through the library while establishing a formidable aerial presence. The deck translates this card and mana velocity into decisive pressure around Turn 5, deploying game-altering bombs such as Magister Sphinx to instantly drop an opponent to critical life, or assembling the compact two-card infinite turn loop of Tivit, Seller of Secrets and Time Sieve. Backed by versatile removal like Void Rend and Generous Gift, premium protection like Teferi's Protection, and resilient recursion through Sharuum the Hegemon, the list overwhelms the table with insurmountable value, repeated extra turns, or an evasive combat assault.
