Deck overview

This Abzan enchantment deck is commanded by Anikthea, Hand of Erebos, blending enchantress card velocity, graveyard reanimation, and token population. Early turns prioritize ramping with efficient spells like Nature's Lore and Sanctum Weaver while stocking the graveyard using self-mill cards like Grisly Salvage and Kruphix's Insight. By Turn 4, Anikthea enters the battlefield to reanimate high-impact enchantments as 3/3 Zombie creature tokens. The deck rapidly scales its board presence through populate mechanics from Song of the Worldsoul, Nesting Dovehawk, and Caretaker's Talent. Opponents face aggressive combat pressure enhanced by True Conviction and unblockable menace attacks via Familiar Ground, alongside defensive locks from Sphere of Safety. Even without the commander, standalone powerhouses like Starfield of Nyx and Sigil of the Empty Throne provide reliable backup win conditions.
