Deck overview

This deck is a 5-color spellslinger and midrange engine built around Codie, Ravenous Codex and the Prepare mechanic. By utilizing creatures that enter prepared or become prepared through recurring triggers, the deck casts copies of iconic spells—such as Emeritus of Ideation casting Ancestral Recall, Emeritus of Woe casting Demonic Tutor, and Blazing Firesinger casting Seething Song—which Codie immediately duplicates. This doubled spell output synergizes exceptionally well with Magecraft stalwarts like Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Deekah, Fractal Theorist, translating every spell into waves of Treasures, cards, and massive Fractal creature tokens. The deck ramps on early turns into a Turn 3 Codie, begins explosive spell doubling on Turn 4, and establishes a decisive board state by Turn 5. It closes games on Turn 6 with a table-lethal doubled Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate or an unblockable Fractal assault, protected by cards like Heroic Intervention and efficient countermagic.
