Deck overview

This deck is an Esper tempo and saboteur deck commanded by Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima. The strategy focuses on attacking with individual evasive creatures to trigger Jin Sakai's choice between unblockability and double strike, consistently drawing cards and generating combat value. Early turns deploy mana rocks, utility ninjas, and equipment tutors like Open the Armory and Cloud, Midgar Mercenary. Once Jin Sakai enters on Turn 4, the deck pivots into executing high-impact combat payoffs on Turns 5 and 6, including Blightsteel Colossus through Satoru Umezawa, Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, or Quietus Spike. Because the deck eliminates opponents sequentially through combat damage, closing out the table requires three consecutive combat phases, finishing on Turn 8 while exposing the board to two opponent response cycles. Robust protection like Conqueror's Flail and The Wandering Rescuer defends attacking threats, while versatile Esper removal like Void Rend and Swords to Plowshares disrupts opposing game plans.
