Deck overview

This deck is an infect and toxic aggro-control strategy helmed by Atraxa, Praetors' Voice. The game plan revolves around landing early poison counters on each opponent through low-cost creatures like Blighted Agent, Skrelv, Defector Mite, and Pestilent Syphoner, or spells such as Prologue to Phyresis. Once poison is established, Atraxa, Praetors' Voice enters on turn 4 to begin passively multiplying poison counters every end step alongside support pieces like Bloated Contaminator, Evolution Sage, and Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus. Defensive enchantments such as Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Phyrexian Censor slow down enemy aggression, buying the necessary turns to proliferate the table to ten poison counters. While the deck boasts high functional redundancy and resilient backup threats like Vishgraz, the Doomhive and Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, it is constrained by a slow mana base with numerous taplands, limited instant-speed board protection, and vulnerability to sweepers.
