Deck overview

Ekthi, Contaminator Priest is an ideal equipment commander because his living weapon ability turns every Equipment into a Phyrexian Germ token and attaches it immediately, converting each equipment drop into an artifact creature. There is no double-faced commander or hidden commander in the 99; Ardenn is a high-value support piece, not a general. The primary plan is a commander-damage beatdown: suit up Ekthi (or a Germ) with Colossus Hammer or Kaldra Compleat, use Halvar for double strike, and kill players one by one. A secondary wide-token plan uses Mondrak, Caretaker's Talent, and Moonshaker Cavalry to mass-pump the token army. The deck is fast, linear, and vulnerable to mass artifact removal.
