Army by Poketrainer

Format: Commander

Commander: Myrel, Shield of Argive

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This deck is a mono-white Soldier-tribal build led by Myrel, Shield of Argive. Myrel's attack trigger creates an escalating army of Soldier tokens, while her static ability - opponents can't cast spells or activate abilities of artifacts, creatures, or enchantments during your turn - effectively gives you a one-sided Grand Abolisher effect. The primary game plan is to deploy Myrel early, protect her with a dense suite of instant-speed protection and turn-protection effects, and rapidly multiply tokens with cards like Anointed Procession, Mondrak, Glory Dominus, and Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation. Lords such as Field Marshal and Valiant Veteran pump the horde, while finishers like Akroma's Will and Cathars' Crusade turn a wide board into a one-swing kill. Backup plans include Halo Fountain's alternate win condition and the ability to grind value through Smothering Tithe and The One Ring.
