Deck overview

This is a general-power Grixis deck centered on Sauron, Lord of the Rings. It develops mana with lands and mid-cost artifacts, fills the graveyard through looting and self-mill, then casts Sauron to create a large Army and return a creature immediately. The commander provides a strong one-shot swing, but the deck does not consistently convert that swing into a table kill. Its secondary themes include Orcs, Wraiths, theft, creature sacrifice, and reanimation. Living Death, Lord of the Nazgûl, Fiery Inscription, and Guttersnipe can produce powerful individual turns, but they are not assembled together reliably. Interaction is broad against creatures and permanents, yet it is generally expensive and has little stack coverage. The main weaknesses are slow assembly, limited tutoring, dependence on the commander, and a lack of a deterministic finish or sustained lock.
