Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black stax and attrition strategy commanded by Tergrid, God of Fright. The deck systematically empties opposing hands and boards through symmetrical discard and sacrifice effects, then breaks parity by putting all discarded and sacrificed permanent cards directly onto your battlefield under Tergrid's control. Early turns establish mana acceleration and persistent disruption via Chains of Mephistopheles, Bottomless Pit, and Waste Not. On Turn 4, you deploy Tergrid, followed on Turn 5 by a devastating mass-attrition spell like Dark Deal, Pox, or Rankle's Prank. This strips opponents of resources while generating an overwhelming army of stolen lands and creatures. The deck then closes the game on Turn 7 through combat damage or a lethal Torment of Hailfire powered by Cabal Coffers. Dedicated cheap reanimation ensures the deck recovers quickly if Tergrid is answered.
