Deck overview

Jon Irenicus turns drawback creatures into forced gifts. The primary plan is to ramp into Jon, cast a high-power or evasive creature with a painful downside, and donate it at the end step so it becomes goaded, cannot be sacrificed, and draws cards on every attack. Secondary paths use Archfiend of the Dross's oil-counter clock accelerated by Heartless Act, Ebonblade Reaper's life-halving triggers, and Grafted Exoskeleton infect. Assault Suit, Wrong Turn, and Fateful Handoff provide backup donation, while The Scarab God and Gisa offer a non-commander grind. The endgame is delicate: Homeward Path and phasing effects are important to keep donated threats from turning on you when only one opponent remains.
