Deck overview

This deck pairs Grixis control with elements of classic Lantern Control, wall defenses, and ingest attrition, culminating in the high-impact commander Lord Xander, the Collector. Early turns prioritize deploying sturdy defenders like Wall of Frost and Amaranthine Wall alongside modest mana acceleration to survive aggressive tables. Meanwhile, pieces like Lantern of Insight, Codex Shredder, and Psychic Surgery reveal and selectively manipulate opponents' topdecks while punishing library shuffling. However, translating single-target 1v1 Lantern pieces to a 4-player format dilutes their locking capacity significantly.
