Deck overview

This Grixis Lord of the Rings deck is built around Sauron, the Dark Lord as an amass/card-advantage engine and a compact Bloodchief Ascension mill-lifeloss combo. Early 2/3-power attackers charge Ascension while The Master of Lake-town or Mindcrank waits to convert any life loss into a self-sustaining mill loop. If the combo is disrupted, a growing Orc/Goblin Army with menace, haste, and recursion closes games. The commander is not required for the combo, but his ring-tempt draw-four accelerates assembly and amass triggers build the alternate clock. There is no hidden commander; the deck is built to use Sauron's engine.
