Deck overview

This deck is an Esper topdeck-control strategy built around Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign. It structures its curve around odd mana values to maximize Yennett's attack trigger, which casts odd-CMC cards from the top of the library for free. The early game focuses on establishing mana fixing and deploying repeatable topdeck manipulation such as Sensei's Divining Top, Soothsaying, and Brainstorm. Once Yennett attacks on Turn 6, she cheats massive game-warping threats like Void Winnower, Toxrill, the Corrosive, and Breach the Multiverse onto the battlefield. These permanents lock opponents out of spells, dismantle opposing boards, and generate overwhelming creature presence. The deck maintains control using versatile permanent removal and stax pieces like Fatespinner, eventually closing out games through evasive combat damage by Turn 9. While the deck generates high card value and powerful board locks, its reliance on combat timing and lack of cheap stack protection leave clear windows for opposing interaction.
