Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos control and creature-attrition strategy built around Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats. The primary plan pairs low-cost direct-damage creatures, known as pingers, with Zagras's universal deathtouch aura. Once Zagras enters the battlefield, cards like Cunning Sparkmage, Vulshok Sorcerer, and Goblin Sharpshooter become repeatable, instant-speed creature removal that eliminates any target with a single tap. ETB sweepers like Goblin Chainwhirler instantly wipe opposing boards while sparing your own forces. The deck converts continuous creature deaths into massive resource advantage through treasure generators like Mahadi, Emporium Master and Gadrak, the Crown-Scourge, or direct win conditions such as Revel in Riches. Without infinite combos or stack countermagic, the deck secures victory by keeping opponent battlefields completely clear of blockers and attacking with Zagras and growing threats like Vincent Valentine. Its main vulnerabilities are mass sweepers and a total lack of protective spells for its commander.
