Deck overview

Maralen, Fae Ascendant is a five-mana Sultai Elf/Faerie value commander in an otherwise conventional Elf swarm deck. Every entering Elf or Faerie exiles two cards from a chosen opponent's library, and once each turn Maralen can cast one exiled spell for free when its mana value is within your tribal count. That creates incremental theft and exile pressure, but it is not a combo or reliable primary finisher. The main plan is to deploy cheap mana Elves, turn them into large mana and cards, then win through Craterhoof Behemoth, Ezuri, Renegade Leader, Joraga Warcaller, or Lathril's ten-Elf drain. Lathril is the clearest hidden alternate commander. The supplied Maralen has one face, so there is no second face to evaluate.
