Deck overview

This is a thematic Grixis midrange-reanimator deck centered on Sauron, the Dark Lord. Its main plan is to ramp into Sauron, let opposing spells create an Army, and use combat damage to trigger the Ring. The commander can discard a developed hand and draw four, turning successful attacks into a strong refill. Nazgûl, Archfiend of Ifnir, and Orc payoffs make Ring and discard triggers matter, while Buried Alive, Reanimate, Victimize, and Living Death provide a second axis. The deck also carries useful counters, spot removal, and sweepers. Its limits are clear: the commander costs six mana, combat connection is required, the best reanimation effects are expensive or conditional, and there is no deterministic kill or total lock. It can produce impressive boards with Breach the Multiverse or Rise of the Dark Realms, but those are high-ceiling outcomes rather than ordinary, dependable finishes. The deck is strongest as a value engine and resilient creature deck, not as a competitive combo list.
