Deck overview

Maralen, Fae Ascendant leads a Sultai control deck combining the explosive mana ramp of Elves with the instant-speed flash and disruption of Faeries. The deck accelerates in early turns using low-cost mana dorks and artifacts before deploying token generators like Bitterblossom and Alela, Cunning Conqueror. Once Maralen enters, every Elf or Faerie entering the battlefield exiles two cards from an opponent, letting you cast a spell from exile for free once each turn up to your tribal creature count. By operating at instant speed on opposing turns, the deck generates massive mana and card advantages while holding up free countermagic and removal. The game concludes through evasive aerial combat damage, life-drain triggers from Lathril, Blade of the Elves and Obyra, Dreaming Duelist, or an overloaded Cyclonic Rift.
