Deck overview

This Gruul deck helmed by Barret, Avalanche Leader unites aggressive Equipment voltron lines with explosive go-wide Rebel token generation and direct burn. Early turns focus on establishing mana velocity and casting cheap Equipment such as Colossus Hammer, Fireshrieker, and Wrecking Ball Arm. Once Barret hits the battlefield on Turn 4, every entering Equipment generates a 2/2 Rebel token, while Barret's combat trigger equips them for free without paying cumbersome equip costs. Because Barret is himself a Human Rebel, he can freely wield massive stat-boosting armaments to threaten rapid commander damage eliminations. Concurrently, enchantments and creatures like Impact Tremors, Agate Instigator, and Molten Gatekeeper convert every equipment-triggered token into unavoidable group slug damage across all opponents. Although the deck operates with minimal stack interaction and lacks nonland tutors, its high equipment redundancy, resilient combat presence, and swift engine recovery make it a relentless, punchy midrange beatdown threat in casual pods.
