Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and Elemental midrange deck commanded by Ashling, Rekindled // Ashling, Rimebound. The core strategy leverages Ashling's flip mechanic to accelerate mana velocity, generating two free mana every turn specifically for spells with mana value 4 or greater. This enables early deployment of formidable engines like Archmage Emeritus, Tanufel Rimespeaker, and Ashling, Flame Dancer. In the mid-game, the deck pivots into game-ending threats such as Hostility, Prismari, the Inspiration, and overloaded Mizzix's Mastery. An unusually dense suite of low-cost countermagic—including Swan Song, Strix Serenade, and Stubborn Denial—protects high-impact plays while disrupting opposing strategies. The deck closes games around Turn 7 by converting direct damage into swarms of hasty 3/1 Elementals or storming copied burn spells across all three opponents.
