Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Selesnya Cat tribal and +1/+1 counters strategy commanded by Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost feline threats and boosting their power above base stats using static anthems, counter placement, and tribal lords. Once modified creatures connect with opponents in combat, Kutzil acts as a reliable card draw engine to keep hands stocked while passively preventing opponents from casting spells during your turn. This silence effect insulates your combat steps and deployment phases from countermagic and instant-speed interaction. The deck transitions into a lethal clock around Turn 6 by resolving massive team amplifiers like Beastmaster Ascension, Sovereign Okinec Ahau, or Mirari's Wake, overwhelming the table across subsequent combat steps. While vulnerable to sorcery-speed sweepers and lacking dedicated creature tutors, the list packs robust board protection like Heroic Intervention and Inspiring Call alongside efficient targeted removal to maintain aggressive momentum.
