Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Grixis attrition and combo strategy commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary game plan combines symmetrical draw and discard spells, known as wheels, with asymmetric punishers such as Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Underworld Dreams, and Orcish Bowmasters. When a wheel resolves, opponents take massive damage and lose their carefully sculpted hands, while you generate immense card advantage, mana, and board presence. Sauron acts as a massive resilient threat that generates Orc armies and loots through your deck whenever the Ring tempts you. A dense package of nine Nazgûl provides rapid creature scaling and continuous Ring triggers. Backed by format-staple fast mana, tutors, and an efficient suite of counterspells, the deck can also pivot seamlessly into an instant win using the Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank infinite combo.
