Deck overview

This is a Bard, King of Dale Azorius token deck built around drawing extra cards and turning the second card drawn each turn into a growing board. Bard, King of Dale doubles both extra draws and token creation, while cards such as Alandra, Sky Dreamer, Prince Imrahil the Fair, Minn, Wily Illusionist, Mischievous Mystic, and Emrakul's Messenger convert those draws into creatures. Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, The One Ring, Esper Sentinel, and Teferi's Ageless Insight provide the fuel. The deck usually assembles its first useful engine around turn 7, but its decisive threat is slower because the board must grow before Moonshaker Cavalry can produce lethal flying damage. Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Smothering Tithe, and the counterspell suite give it useful disruption and protection. Its main problems are reliance on a six-mana commander, fragmented access to the required roles, vulnerability before the final combat, and the absence of a compact combo or hard lock.
