Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Rakdos Group Slug engine commanded by Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin. The strategy capitalizes on Ob Nixilis's triggered ability, which grows him with +1/+1 counters and provides impulse card draw whenever an opponent loses exactly 1 life. The 99 is densely packed with repeatable 1-damage sources that punish opponents for regular game actions—drawing cards via Razorkin Needlehead and Fate Unraveler, tapping lands via Manabarbs, and casting spells with Coruscation Mage or Black Mage's Rod. This setup generates immense velocity, rapidly churning through the library while Ob Nixilis becomes a lethal, flying, trampling threat. The deck features a compact infinite combo with All Will Be One, which creates a self-sustaining loop of counters and single-damage pings to eliminate the entire table in one turn. Supported by efficient Rakdos removal, redirect spells, and secondary engines like Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls and Bolas's Citadel, the deck pressures life totals relentlessly from early turns onward.
