Deck overview

This is a **Sultai Hydra Tribal** deck helmed by Zaxara, the Exemplary, built around casting spells with {X} in their mana cost. Zaxara serves as both a mana dork (producing two mana of any one color) and a token generator - each {X} spell creates a Hydra token with X +1/+1 counters. The deck leverages a dense package of counter doublers (Doubling Season, Corpsejack Menace, Branching Evolution, The Earth Crystal, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider) to turn every X-spell into a massive threat. Primary win conditions include overwhelming combat damage with trample-enablers (Garruk's Uprising, Primal Rage), the Simic Ascendancy counter race, and the X-drain spells Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate for a single-turn kill. Villainous Wealth offers a flexible alternative. The deck is highly synergistic but leans heavily on its X-spell density and lacks robust tutoring, making it a powerful but inconsistent value engine.
