Deck overview

This deck is a five-color spellslinger combo strategy helmed by Codie, Ravenous Codex. It leverages the custom Prepare mechanic, where creatures enter the battlefield prepared to cast powerful instant and sorcery copies such as Seething Song, Demonic Tutor, and Ancestral Recall. The primary win condition revolves around Displacer Kitten paired with enter-prepared creatures like Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song. Because casting a prepared spell triggers Displacer Kitten to blink the host creature, the creature re-enters immediately prepared, creating a deterministic loop that yields infinite mana, infinite storm, and unlimited card draw. The deck converts this loop into an immediate table-wide kill using Aetherflux Reservoir, Fiery Inscription, or a lethal Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate. A robust ramp base of 1-2 CMC dorks and rocks enables consistent Turn 4 execution, backed by high-tier defensive countermagic like Deflecting Swat and Teferi's Protection to safeguard the winning sequence.
