[CEDH] Thranduil, the Elvenking (duplicated from jonylcgs) by user7008267

Format: Commander

Commander: Thranduil, the Elvenking

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This is a Sultai "Elves + activated abilities" combo deck built around Thranduil, the Elvenking as a graveyard-powered engine. Because Thranduil has every activated ability of all Elf cards in your graveyard, a single Buried Alive pile turns him into a one-card copy of Necrotic Ooze, capable of generating infinite green mana with Devoted Druid, Viridian Joiner, and Greenhilt Trainee. The deck also exploits a completely basic-free manabase to make Hermit Druid a one-activation library-emptier, setting up Thassa's Oracle for the win. Premium tutors, free counterspells, fast mana, and a dense elf-dork package keep the deck fast and resilient. Necrotic Ooze effectively functions as a "hidden commander" / backup combo piece, while Concordant Crossroads and Thousand-Year Elixir grant the haste needed to execute the same-turn kill.
