Deck overview

This deck is a thematic Grixis midrange strategy that leverages Sauron, the Dark Lord alongside nine copies of Nazgûl. In the opening turns, the deck deploys 2-mana artifacts to ramp into its 6-mana commander by Turn 5. Sauron punishes opposing spells by constantly growing an Orc Army token. Once combat begins, connecting with an Army triggers The Ring tempts you, allowing you to discard your hand and draw four fresh cards each turn. This card flow rapidly digs into mass reanimation spells like Patriarch's Bidding, pump effects like Orcish Siegemaster, and evasion through The Black Gate. While the deck features strong combat resilience and inherent ward protection on Sauron, it relies primarily on combat damage to eliminate opponents and has limited answers for noncreature permanents.
